JOB DESCRIPTION

The Data Warehouse Manager establishes and executes the vision for the delivery of information and analytics solutions to Delivery Agent’s key stakeholders. The Data Warehouse Manager will use the established technologies to further develop the existing data warehouse, will develop business intelligence reporting tools to deliver reporting and analytic solutions to key stakeholders, and will also drive the adoption of consistent corporate metrics . He/She will define the needs of key stakeholders as they relate to information reporting, analysis, segmentation, modeling, and distribution, and deliver solutions that meet or exceed these expectations. This position will help move a rapidly maturing start-up to the next level, reshape relationships with Delivery Agent’s internal and external customers, and provide avenues for enabling data-driven strategic and tactical decisions for the company.

Responsibilities:

  • • Manage all aspects of the data warehouse implementation and business intelligence reporting
    • Maintain and enhance current data warehouse technologies, tools, and processes
    • Manage the process of consolidating multiple data sources from different functional areas of the organization and succinctly and effectively communicate implications
    • Develop and write ETL processes for disparate data sources and formats for importing to the Delivery Agent data warehouse
    • Work closely as part of and with the Engineering team to ensure changes to the Delivery Agent platform are properly integrated into the data warehouse.
    • Deliver reports with necessary information that will drive impactful merchandising, operations, and financial decisions, as well as marketing communications by leveraging analytics, business intelligence and enabling campaign management frameworks
    • Define, articulate, and deliver the information, reporting, and analytical needs of Delivery Agent’s key stakeholder groups.
    • Analyze and prioritize reporting needs, and implement reporting and list pull enhancements for business end users via the data warehouse and reporting tool
    • Drive significant automation and streamlining of the processes underlying the data warehouse
    • Develop and communicate vision, goals, strategies, tactics, project plans, timelines, milestones, and key performance metrics to supplant corporate initiatives and strategy
    • Formalize and oversee the project development process from idea generation, development, testing, and deployment
    • Keep current with the direction of the business and the needs of internal customers.
    • Establish and maintain excellent inter-department communication so that roles, requirements, dependencies, decisions, and work processes are clearly articulated and understood.

Requirements:

  • • 4+ years with SAS, SQL, PL/SQL, database design & development (OLTP, ODS, datamart, star schema); SQL reporting services & analysis services
    • 4+ years experience with database, ETL, and reporting software, including 2+ years experience with MySQL, Talend and Microstrategy
    • Familiarity and hands-on experience with LAMP environment
    • Expert level skills in MS Excel, MS Access, VBA, Excel Macros and MS Power Point Tasks
    • Hands-on technical background that would enable you to interact easily with both internal and external technical staff
    • Extensive expertise and/or demonstrated experience with business intelligence tools, designing, reporting and delivering analytical solutions; data management and warehousing, and the strategic use of information. Experience must include strong skills in research, analysis and data management.
    • 6+ years experience with writing detailed requirements specifications for IT solution delivery with a significant database component or database focus - consisting of at least 100 distinct enumerated requirements
    • 6+ years experience as a business requirements analyst with full lifecycle software implementations (SDLC) involving large databases.
    • Experience with Marketing (Database Marketing, Direct Marketing, Email Marketing, Interactive Marketing) in an ecommerce setting preferred
    • Be rigorous about the accuracy, validity and reliability of collected research and information.
    • Strong analytical thinking, intellectual curiosity and tenacity.
    • Ability to influence people indirectly, work with people in multi-functional roles, and success in being a driver of change in an organization.
    • Exceptional analytical, creative, technical project management and interpersonal skills, along with an intense customer focus.
    • Exceptional written and verbal communications, including the ability to raise issues appropriately to the right level internally and externally for resolution.
    • Ability to provide technical oversight and guidance to partners for projects on a variety of platforms, while remaining focused on overall business requirements
    • Bachelors Degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems or Engineering is required. Masters degree is preferred
